The Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, said on Thursday that the leaked Israeli intelligence document proposing the displacement of millions of Palestinians to Sinai is a ridiculous proposal.
Shoukry confirmed during an interview with the American network "CNN" that he has not spoken to Israel about the document, adding "I do not think we will talk to Israel, nor to any party that would raise such a ridiculous proposal," emphasizing that Egypt's position on this matter is clear and explicit.
He continued: "Sovereign countries are well-defined by their borders, by their populations. The issue of displacement in itself is a matter that conflicts with international humanitarian law, so I think no one will engage in illegal activity."
Meanwhile, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu downplayed the importance of the document, saying: "This is a preliminary paper, like dozens of such papers prepared by all political and security levels."
As part of the plan, tent cities will be built in the area, with more permanent cities constructed later.
