Media personality Rami Radwan, husband of the Egyptian artist Donia Samir Ghanem, announced the death of her mother, the veteran actress Dalal Abdel Aziz, after a long battle with illness lasting about 4 months following her infection with COVID-19, just weeks after the death of her husband, the late actor Samir Ghanem.

Abdel Aziz was on ventilators due to the effects the virus had on her respiratory system and lungs.

Also, actor Hassan El Raddad, husband of their second daughter, Amy Samir Ghanem, confirmed what Radwan announced, saying: "The kindest of God's creations, I have never seen anything but good from you, my dear. May God forgive you, have mercy on you, and reunite us in the hereafter."

Thus, Dalal Abdel Aziz joins her husband, the actor Samir Ghanem, who died last May at the age of 84 after contracting coronavirus.

The Egyptian actress began her career by participating in the series "Bent El Ayam" in 1977, then took part in the play "Ahlan Ya Doctor" where she met Samir Ghanem before marrying him.

Abdel Aziz participated in dozens of plays, series, and films, and her last participation was in the series "Molk El Gedana".

The Egyptian Minister of Culture said in a Facebook post that "the late actress was distinguished by a special artistic style and honestly expressed the Egyptian woman, embodying characters that left prominent marks in the audience's consciousness."

The funeral of the late artist is scheduled to take place after the noon prayer on Sunday from Al-Moshir Tantawy Mosque in New Cairo.
