Joseph "Jo Jo" Bennett, a two-time Juno Award-winning pioneer of reggae music in Canada, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 81, according to his friends to CBC News.
Bennett, born in Kingston, Jamaica on July 13, 1940, began his musical career at the age of ten when he joined the Alpha Boys School to study jazz and classical music.
In fact, Bennett was not only known for his musical talent but was also known for his care for others and his beloved personality.
For his part, Bennett's colleague and lead singer Fergus Hambleton said, "Jo Jo brought a lot of joy with his music," adding: "He was a very musical person and a very encouraging person.. this made him a great teacher and a great player."
