The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says bird flu has been detected in three other communities in Alberta.
The agency says the H5N1 strain of bird flu was confirmed on Sunday in a small flock in Two Hills County.
It was also confirmed in Wainwright and Lethbridge County. Bird flu was first detected in poultry flocks in Alberta last month.
The agency said bird flu does not pose a significant public health concern for healthy people who are not in regular contact with infected birds.
It also said the cases serve as a strong reminder that bird flu is spreading worldwide and that anyone who has farm animals should practice good biosecurity habits to protect poultry and prevent disease.
The bird flu outbreak events started last year in Europe and have since spread to the United States and Canada, resulting in the destruction of some commercial farms with a very high mortality rate.
