The front area of the Rafah land crossing in North Sinai, Egypt, adjacent to the city of Gaza, witnessed several visits by delegations from Canada and the United States to inspect the mechanisms of aid entry and receiving injured Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
A delegation from the Armed Services Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, headed by Representative Adam Smith, the minority leader in the committee, inspected the Rafah land crossing, in the presence of Hairo Mustafa, the U.S. Ambassador in Cairo, and members of the Egyptian Red Crescent.
During their visit to the Rafah land crossing, the delegation passed by services for U.S. citizens representing the U.S. Embassy in Cairo at the gate of the Rafah land crossing in North Sinai, in addition to inspecting aid trucks for the Gaza Strip.
The American delegation also visited the Red Crescent warehouses in Arish, where aid for the Gaza Strip arriving in North Sinai is stored. They listened to an explanation from Red Crescent representatives about the mechanism of receiving, storing, and delivering aid to Gaza.
Canadian Minister of International Development Ahmed Hussein also inspected the Rafah land crossing after his arrival today, Tuesday, at Arish Airport.
The Canadian Minister of International Development confirmed that this visit is his third to Egypt, as he participated in the "Cairo Peace Summit" on October 21 last year, in addition to his visit to Cairo on November 8 last year with the aim of deepening bilateral relations, as part of the ongoing work regarding the situation in Gaza.
He pointed out that his visit to North Sinai Governorate will include inspecting aid warehouses in the city of Arish, visiting the injured Palestinians in Arish General Hospital, and visiting the Rafah land crossing.
