A British newspaper report revealed that the Israeli intelligence agency "Mossad" recruited Iranian agents to plant explosive devices in 3 rooms of the guesthouse belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in the Iranian capital, Tehran, where the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniya, was staying, and then detonated them remotely from outside.

"Sky News Arabia" quoted the British newspaper "Telegraph" as saying that it learned the Mossad recruited Iranian security agents to place explosives in 3 separate rooms in the building where Ismail Haniya resided.

According to the newspaper, the original plan was to assassinate Ismail Haniya in May, when he attended the funeral of the late Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi.

Two Iranian officials told the "Telegraph" that the operation did not proceed due to the large crowds inside the building and the possibility of failure.

Instead, the two agents planted explosive devices in 3 rooms of the guesthouse in northern Tehran where Haniya might be staying.

The agents were seen moving stealthily while entering and exiting multiple rooms within minutes, according to officials who have footage from the building's surveillance cameras.

It is reported that the agents escaped outside the country but still have a source inside Iran. At 2 a.m. on Wednesday, they detonated the explosives from outside in the room where Haniya was staying.
