The government of the State of Bolivia announced in a statement issued today, Tuesday, the severance of all diplomatic relations with Israel, accusing Israel of committing crimes against humanity in its attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Deputy Foreign Minister Freddy Mamani said in a press conference broadcast by Bolivian television: "The Bolivian government has severed its diplomatic relations with Israel, due to Israel committing crimes against humanity in its attacks on the Gaza Strip."
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Bolivia has cut its diplomatic ties with Israel, as it took this step in 2009 in protest against Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
In 2020, the government of then-President Jeanine Áñez restored relations between the two countries.
The Israeli war on Gaza continues, resulting in the death of more than 8500 people, a toll expected to rise every minute, in addition to hundreds of thousands wounded and displaced in the Strip.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza also reported that the toll from Israeli raids on Jabalia Camp "exceeded 400 martyrs and wounded," and that many residents of the targeted residential block are still under the rubble.
Eyewitnesses said a "large massacre occurred in Jabalia Camp," which has the highest population density in the Strip.
It is worth mentioning that the Israeli army announced last Friday evening the expansion of its ground operations inside the Palestinian territories in the Gaza Strip, launching massive and violent air attacks targeting areas in the north and east of the Gaza Strip.
