US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the United States believes Russia is paving the way to use nuclear weapons, explaining that Moscow is not making sufficient efforts at the diplomatic level.
Blinken stated in press comments that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is not proceeding as planned by Russian President Vladimir Putin, pointing to the study of war crimes committed by the Russian side.
Blinken affirmed: "We continue to provide military support to the Ukrainian side, more than 4 billion dollars is the value of humanitarian aid to Ukrainians."
He explained that America supports diplomatic efforts, calling on China to play a role in that.
More than 3 million refugees have fled since the war on Ukraine began by Russia.
Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine on February 24, in an attempt to deter it from joining NATO, after the West ignored the security guarantees demanded by Russia.
Russia had demanded the international community to provide guarantees against the eastward expansion of NATO forces in Ukraine, and also demanded that Kyiv not join the alliance, as it sees this as a major security threat.
