Travelers traveling to and from Union Station in Toronto may face delays today as GO Transit says bus service at the downtown transit hub has been disrupted due to the protest.
GO Transit says many routes have been affected, with buses boarding at alternative locations or being rerouted to connect with train lines.
The agency says the disruption is due to protesters restricting access to the Union Bus Terminal, and service adjustments will remain in effect until the protest ends. Service at the bus station has also been affected by repeated protests for over a week.
Ninety-five workers from the power company went on strike on April 20 and have started intermittent demonstrations in the days following.
They are signal and communications workers as well as train traffic managers at Union Station, and one of the reasons for the protest is that they have been without a contract since December 2019.
