The Department of National Defence said there is a fatal incident involving a vehicle on the grounds of the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ont.
Emergency crews responded to the incident at around 2 a.m. on Friday in Point Frederick.
Officials have not confirmed the number of deaths in the incident. The DND said in a statement: "RMC’s first priority is to ensure the care and support of our naval officers, staff, faculty, and families." This incident occurred in Point Frederick, a peninsula where Lake Ontario meets the St. Lawrence River.
"This is a significant loss, and we extend our warm condolences to all our members and their families and friends during this difficult time." The DND says no further information will be released at this time.
