The spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Wenbin, said that no one wants to see the outbreak of a third world war, affirming that China supports resolving the conflict in Ukraine through diplomacy.

Wang added - during a press conference today, Tuesday, according to the official website of the Chinese TV channel "CGTN" - that "all parties must first support dialogue and negotiations to prevent the escalation of the conflict and avoid making Europe and the world pay a greater price."

He reiterated China's commitment to nuclear disarmament on the Korean Peninsula after Pyongyang pledged to enhance its nuclear capabilities during a military parade held last night.

The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry explained that China is committed to maintaining peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, achieving nuclear disarmament, and resolving disputes through dialogue and consultation.

He pointed out that China will strengthen communication and coordination with the relevant parties and jointly enhance the political settlement of the Korean Peninsula issue.

The North Korean leader Kim Jong-un announced during the military parade his intention to enhance the country's nuclear capabilities at the fastest pace as North Korea celebrates the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army.

Kim emphasized that Pyongyang will make comprehensive preparations for the use of nuclear deterrence at any time, warning that any forces seeking military confrontation against his country will cease to exist.
