A man was arrested after he allegedly brought a nail gun to a demonstration near Thornhill, Ontario on Sunday.
York Regional Police (YRP) said they attended the demonstration that took place near several Jewish temples on Clarke Avenue West, at around 9 a.m.
According to attendees, the demonstration was organized as a protest against a real estate event hosted by the Home In Israel real estate group.
The police also said on Sunday morning that the event was peaceful and attended by about 100 people.
At around 11:30 a.m., YRP confirmed that they arrested a man armed with a nail gun and he is under investigation.
According to several attendees, the man was acting aggressively towards the protesters.
Injuries were reported, and the police did not clarify whether charges would be filed or not.
The police said: “The investigation is ongoing, and there is no risk to public safety at this time.”
