Reuters quoted a source in the German government today, Wednesday, saying that German defense export approvals to Israel so far this year have increased by about ten times compared to last year.

The source explained that Berlin has been treating permit requests as a priority since Hamas attacked Israel last month, according to Reuters.

According to the agency, the German government approved the export of defense equipment worth nearly 303 million euros (323 million dollars) to Israel since November 2nd of this year, while defense exports worth 32 million euros were approved for the entire year of 2022.

The source added: In the wake of Hamas' attack on Israel, priority was given to export requests for military equipment to Israel and were approved by the federal government.

Reuters reported that even with this increase, Israel represents a small share of German military exports, which totaled 8.76 billion euros in the first nine months of 2023.

This comes as the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip continues for the second month, and Israel has killed nearly 11,000 martyrs in Gaza and the West Bank, most of them in the besieged Gaza Strip, the majority being women and children.

Japan's foreign minister said, on the sidelines of the Group of Seven ministers' meeting in Tokyo today, that the G7 members agreed to support a temporary truce and a humanitarian corridor to facilitate the entry of aid to Gaza.
