A tractor-trailer was involved in a fiery collision that led to the closure of the westbound lanes of Highway 401 near the DVP, and cleanup is expected to take several hours.
The incident occurred around 3 AM this Wednesday near Leslie Street, affecting the westbound Highway 401 from Highway 404 approaching Allen Road.
The HOV tunnel from southbound Highway 404 to westbound Highway 401 was closed but has since been reopened.
The driver of the tractor-trailer crashed into a highway barrier, resulting in a large fire on the highway.
According to the OPP, the driver was treated for minor injuries. It is unclear if any other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Cleanup is expected to take several hours, and the OPP estimates that the closure may last until noon.
