The French authorities announced a 40% reduction in the number of flights at Paris Orly Airport, following a sudden technical failure in the air traffic control systems.
The airport management explained that the failure significantly impacted the organization and management of air traffic, prompting them to reduce the number of flights to ensure aviation safety. Technicians are working to fix the issue as quickly as possible, but no date has yet been set for the restoration of full operations.
Informed sources reported that passengers are experiencing noticeable delays and cancellations for some flights, while airlines have advised travelers to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.
For his part, the French Minister of Transport confirmed that the current priority is to ensure the safety of flights and restore the systems to normal operation, noting that maintenance teams are making strenuous efforts to address the problem.
It is worth mentioning that Paris Orly Airport is one of the largest airports in France and serves millions of travelers annually, making any disruption to its systems significantly impactful on air traffic in the country.
