John Reed's expression as he left another police officer's funeral was not just sorrow.
It was anger.
"Nothing is acceptable," said the president of the Toronto Police Association (TPA).
The TPA president said a police officer being ambushed and killed in a public place should not be tolerated, and now after burying Constable Andrew Hong, it is time to take action to ensure it doesn't happen again.
He promises the Pacific Partnership Agreement will push hard for that.
"This kind of violence cannot be in Canada," he told reporters after the massive funeral on Wednesday at the convention center.
But now that it has happened in Canada, politicians need to look at why and what needs to be fixed.
"We will talk to the government," Reed said.
In fact, they have already started. "Look at the police these days and Andrew's death is very tragic. It is really an attack on modern society. This should not be accepted." "As an association, we will move forward to try to do something about it."
