The US judiciary published on Friday a judicial document outlining the reasons for the federal police to search former President Donald Trump's home in Florida, after its content was largely redacted in favor of the investigation.

Federal Judge Bruce Reinhart ordered the Department of Justice to publish this essential document, which is supposed to detail the reasons that led to the investigation of Donald Trump, citing the public interest in the unprecedented raid on a former US president's home.

However, the judge accepted the ministry's request to redact important parts of the document, which could have revealed the identities of some actors in the case, in the name of the "urgent need" to protect the investigations.

The authorities waited until the last moment and published the document, which came in 38 pages, just after 12:00 local time (16:00 GMT), the deadline set by Judge Reinhart.

The publication of the document was opposed on the grounds that it required significant redaction "to the extent that it would strip the leaked text of any important content."

On August 8, the FBI raided Donald Trump's residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida and confiscated boxes containing classified documents that the former president had not returned after leaving the White House despite repeated requests.

Trump, who intends to run for the 2024 presidential elections, has long criticized this operation, viewing it as an example of the "vicious campaign" targeting him.
