The authorities said that a small plane collided with a building in New Hampshire, resulting in the death of two people on board and causing a major fire on the ground. The Federal Aviation Administration also said in a statement on Saturday that a single-engine Beechcraft Sierra collided with a building north of Keene Dillant-Hopkins Airport in Keene, New Hampshire on Friday evening, where city officials said on their Facebook page that no one in the building struck by the plane was injured, but "those who were on the plane have died." Furthermore, the FAA said: "The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate and the NTSB will be responsible for the investigation as well as provide additional updates." In the same context, Keene Mayor George Hansel told the Associated Press that two people on the plane died but their identities have not been disclosed, and said the plane hit a two-story barn attached to a multi-family residential building. Also, the eight people in the residential building were evacuated due to the subsequent fire and have since been relocated. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Additionally, Hansel said: "We are very lucky in some ways, as the plane did not hit a part of the building where people were present. Clearly, this could have been much worse, as any loss of life is a tragedy." Shawn Calkins, one of the witnesses to the accident, told WMUR-TV that he saw the fire while driving his car, adding: "We were probably about a quarter of a mile away, feeling the heat coming from the fire that was rising, I assure you it was a big fire."
