Ukrainian energy company "Ukrenergo" stated this morning, Thursday, that several Ukrainian energy facilities were subjected to a severe Russian aerial attack, and that Ukrainian drones targeted fuel depots in Russia during the night.
Ukrenergo announced damages in the regions of Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Kyiv, noting that the exact extent of the damages is still under investigation.
The regional governor, Serhiy Borzov, stated via Telegram that the damages in the Vinnytsia region of central Ukraine were caused by the wreckage of a Russian drone.
The regional administration announced that an electricity line and an unspecified industrial complex were affected in Kyiv Oblast.
Reports indicated that explosions occurred in the city of Dnipro and in the Zaporizhia region during the night.
The commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, announced in a statement via Telegram today, Thursday, that Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 27 drones and 5 missiles launched by Russia at Ukrainian territory last night.
Oleshchuk stated that the Russian military launched an attack on Ukraine last night using ground-to-air missiles and Shahed drones, according to the Ukrainian national news agency "Ukrinform."
He added that Russian forces fired 9 missiles and 27 drones.
Oleshchuk said, "The enemy aerial attack was repelled by fighter jets, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units of the Air Force, and mobile fire groups of Ukrainian defense forces."
Oleshchuk clarified that Ukrainian air defenses destroyed a total of 32 missiles and drones.
On the other hand, Ukrainian drone attacks caused fires at two fuel depots during the night, according to Russian authorities.
A fuel depot in the town of Enem near Krasnodar in southern Russia and a depot in the Tambov region south of Moscow were affected.
