Members of the ruling military council in Niger participated on Saturday with thousands of protesters in a demonstration near the French military base in Niamey, demanding the departure of French troops.
The media envoy and journalist to Niger reported a rise in the intensity of protests around the French military base in the capital Niamey.
He stated that many security and military leaders passed in front of the French military base to show solidarity and agreement on the demand for the departure of French troops.
He added that tomorrow, Sunday, September 3, the deadline given by the military council for France to withdraw its forces from the country will end.
The envoy and reporter mentioned that there are currently no signs that France will withdraw its forces from Niger, which may lead protesters to storm the sprawling base, which houses thousands of French soldiers.
Since the coup on July 26, the demand for the departure of the ambassador and French troops from Niger has emerged, a demand that Paris has so far rejected.
