The United Nations said that Israel ordered the evacuation of 13 hospitals in northern Gaza, warning that moving patients on ventilators and children in incubators could lead to death.

The statement pointed out that thousands of patients and about 117,000 displaced persons still remain in the 13 hospitals that Israel ordered to be evacuated in northern Gaza.

The UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths expressed deep concern about the Israeli evacuation order.

Griffiths said: "There is no safe place for these people and patients to go. Moving patients on ventilators and children in incubators would be a death sentence."

Griffiths, currently in Jerusalem, mentioned in a message he posted on his account that he had a phone conversation with families in Gaza, saying: "The situation that the families in Gaza have been living since October 7 is devastating. When an 8-year-old child says he does not want to die, it is impossible not to feel helpless."
