The Irish singer Niall Horan had to get rid of his car and walk to Scotiabank Arena where his concert took place last weekend because the traffic was "really bad" in downtown.

Horan showcased his short walk in a video he posted on his Instagram account.

Horan said at the beginning of the video while traffic was seen behind him: "Traffic is really bad in Toronto, so we are walking to the place."

The video, which was sped up and featured The Proclaimers' song "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" in the background, shows the former One Direction member walking from west on Young Street straight to the underground entrance at Scotiabank Arena after Bay Street.

Horan said upon arriving: "In all the years I've spent performing, I don’t think I’ve ever walked into a place, we did it."

Horan played in front of tens of thousands of fans at Scotiabank Arena for two nights as part of "The Show: Live on Tour."

Traffic in the city, especially downtown, worsened due to lane reductions on the Gardiner Expressway as part of ongoing repairs. Last month, tracking data showed that commercial travel times on the highway increased by 250 percent during morning rush hours since the work began two months ago.

In January, Toronto topped the list of the most congested cities in North America, surpassing New York and Mexico City.

Last year, star Tom Cruise also asked: “What’s the traffic like in Toronto? Have they figured that out?”
