The Jordanian monarch is discussing developments in the Palestinian territories with Egypt and Iraq.

The Jordanian monarch King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein discussed with the Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ Al-Sudani by phone, the developments in the Palestinian territories.

A statement from Al-Sudani's office - as reported by the (Al-Sumaria News) channel today, Sunday - indicated that both sides confirmed during the call the importance of a unified Arab and Islamic stance, and the urgent action needed to stop the escalation and to work jointly to halt the ongoing violations committed by the Israeli authorities against the Palestinian people, which were the main reason for the tension in the Palestinian territories.

It was also emphasized the necessity of adhering to international resolutions that have been ignored by Israel and continuing regional and international efforts towards restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi also received a phone call from King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the call addressed consultations regarding the latest developments in the current situation and the ongoing escalation between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, where the recent developments were reviewed and the priority of combined regional and international efforts to stop escalation and violence, and to exercise restraint, in order to preserve bloodshed and prevent further deterioration of the situation, was emphasized.

It was agreed to continue and intensify consultations and coordination between Egypt and Jordan in order to enhance efforts to achieve a ceasefire, leading to advancing the comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, in accordance with relevant international legitimacy references, ensuring the establishment of peace and stability in the region.
