The missing helicopter is being searched for in British Columbia, where the Joint Rescue Coordination Center in Victoria told CTV News that a private helicopter was reported overdue in the Revelstoke area around 8:40 p.m. on Friday.

At about the same time, the Canadian Mission Control Center of the Air Force JRCC received a signal from an emergency locator transmitter about 10 nautical miles east of Revelstoke, according to the center.

A CH-149 Cormorant helicopter and a CH-130 Hercules aircraft were assigned to the search but have since been stood down due to weather.

JRCC explained that local mountain search and rescue teams are conducting a ground search.

The Revelstoke area police stated in their Saturday statement that they were notified "shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday that a helicopter heading from Calgary may have crashed," confirming that search efforts continue in Glacier National Park as of 3 p.m., and as of Saturday, the missing helicopter has not been found.
