The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, to discuss the latest developments in the military escalation on the Palestinian-Israeli front.
The official spokesperson for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that during the phone call, there was a review of the intensive communications ongoing with various concerned parties to urge for de-escalation and achieving calm, in order to save blood and protect civilians who are suffering from significant humanitarian hardships due to the continuation of military operations. It was also confirmed that there is a necessity to push strongly towards achieving just peace in the region based on the two-state solution in accordance with the relevant international legitimacy references.
