Canadian divers Nathan Zsombor-Murray and Rylann Wyns won the bronze medal in the men's synchronized 10-meter diving event at the Paris Olympics.

Zsombor-Murray from Pointe-Claire, Quebec, and Regina Wyns secured third place with a total of 422.13 points over six dives.

This is Canada's first medal in this event and the first men's diving medal since Alexandre Despatie won silver in the 3-meter platform event in Beijing 2008.

The Chinese duo of Jingui Lian and Hao Yang won the gold medal with a score of 490.35 points, while British divers Tom Daley and Noah Williams followed closely with 463.44 points.

It was not an ideal day for Canada. Zsombor-Murray struggled on his third and fifth dives, while Wyns had some difficulty on the fourth dive, which was the toughest - a backward 4 1/2 somersault in the tuck position.

Nonetheless, their consistent performances kept them ahead of the Mexican team of Kevin Berlin Reyes and Randall Vilar Valdez, who finished fourth with 418.65 points.
