The team won the gold medal on Sunday in the boat race at the World Cup in Lucerne, Switzerland, serving as an international preparation before the Paris Games.

Jessica Seavick, Kylie Filmer, Maya Mishkulit, Kasia Gruczała-Wiszeirski, Kristin Sirmachinski, Sydney Payne, Christina Walker, Abigail Dent, and coxswain Kristen Keat crossed the finish line in six minutes and 4.47 seconds.

Great Britain secured the silver medal with a time of 6:05.57, while Australia took the bronze (6:08.77).

The lightweight women's double of Jill Moffatt and Jennifer Casson also competed in Lucerne. The duo will also wear the Maple Leaf in Paris, but they just finished on the podium in the final on Sunday.

Moffatt, from Bethany, Ontario, and Casson, from Kingston, Ontario, crossed the line in 7:03.43, finishing fourth in the overall ranking.

Great Britain won the gold medal with a time of 6:54.83, followed by New Zealand (6:57.68) and the United States (7:01.37).

All eight women, along with Moffatt and Casson, qualified for the summer games at last year's World Championship in Belgrade, Serbia.
