The Canadian Foreign Minister expressed her welcome for the recent developments in the conflict between Israel and Hamas through a post on "X" (formerly Twitter). Her statement included:
“I feel encouraged to see that the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas is still holding. Four additional Israeli hostages have been reunited with their families. More vital humanitarian aid is also reaching Palestinians in Gaza. These are welcomed additional steps in the right direction.”
The minister confirmed that Canada supports any efforts aimed at protecting civilians and alleviating humanitarian suffering, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the ceasefire and intensifying efforts to provide humanitarian aid in Gaza, which is suffering tragic conditions due to the ongoing conflict.
She also called on all parties to commit to peaceful solutions to ensure a safe and just future for the entire region.
