Canadians are expecting to receive another payment of the Canadian carbon rebate for the current year 2024 today, Monday, as stated by the Canadian government.

Taxpayers living across Canada, except for British Columbia, Quebec, and the territories, will be eligible for the rebate if they apply by March 15, and the person must be at least 19 years old. If you are younger than that, the following conditions must apply:

You must have, or have had, a former spouse or common-law partner.

You must be a parent of a child living with you, or have been in that situation previously.

It is worth noting that the Canadian carbon rebate is intended to offset the costs that Canadians incur from carbon pricing when purchasing fuel.

This rebate is issued every three months on the fifteenth of the month, with the first rebate having been distributed in April of last year, and the remaining payments due in October of this year and January 2025.

If the fifteenth falls on a public holiday or a weekend, payments will be deposited on the last preceding business day, and the amount that eligible Canadians receive from the carbon rebate depends on their place of residence as well as their family situation.

The amount is determined annually, based on what the federal government expects in each province.
