Al Jazeera network reported today, Wednesday, that gunfire was directed at the American embassy in the Awkar area of Mount Lebanon.
Yesterday, Tuesday, the U.S. administration expressed its concern over the recent escalation of tension between Israel and the Lebanese Hezbollah.
Matthew Miller, the U.S. State Department spokesperson, said during a press briefing on Tuesday that they are worried about messages from Israeli military officials indicating they are ready to attack Hezbollah, and the rising tension in the region, according to Anadolu Agency.
He added, "We do not support a full-scale war with Hezbollah, and the rising tension in this conflict concerns us, and we have been striving to keep it under control since October 7."
He emphasized that no one wants a regional conflict atmosphere while efforts are underway to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, pointing out that the tension between Israel and Lebanon, which escalates from time to time, cannot be resolved through conflict, and that "problems must be solved only through diplomatic means."
