The Israeli police said on Saturday that several people were injured in a shooting incident that occurred in Tel Aviv. The police clarified in their statement that “there are injuries at the scene, and at this stage, large forces of police are on their way to the site,” indicating that “the circumstances are currently unclear.
Local media reported that the incident took place on Levontin Street, which is a busy area in Tel Aviv, and the circumstances of the attack or the identity of the attackers have not yet been revealed.
The incident comes on the eve of a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian factions in Gaza, which is set to take effect on Sunday. It remains unclear whether the incident is related to the recent escalation or ongoing political developments.
The Israeli police confirmed that they are working to assess the situation and investigate the circumstances of the incident, while continuing to deploy their forces in the area to ensure security and pursue any suspects.
