The Saudi Ministry of Hajj has published some instructions for this year's pilgrims, as the concerned authorities have emphasized to the pilgrims not to take photographs inside the Two Holy Mosques in any way or with any photographic tools.
These commitments were issued by the Head of Hajj and Umrah Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments, Khalid Al-Maloud.
The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs stated that the instructions were generally directed at all those going for Hajj or Umrah. It also mentioned that the news came as a circular from within the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the statement came banning photography inside the Two Holy Mosques completely.
The Ministry of Endowments stated that the instructions stressed not to take photographs inside the Two Holy Mosques, and this came within the framework of its keenness to prepare the atmosphere and the worshipful environment inside the Haram, as photography inside the Two Holy Mosques causes disturbance and stirs the feelings of many of its visitors.
The ministry also emphasized that those who violate the instructions that were set, the competent authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have the right to confiscate the photo that was taken or the video that was recorded, as well as confiscate the device that was used for photography if necessary.
The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments stressed the necessity of raising awareness among pilgrims and Umrah performers about this matter, so they do not face penalties.
