Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced today, Sunday, the conclusion of the G20 summit in New Delhi, which lasted for two days, and was attended by leaders from 30 countries, including U.S. President Joe Biden.

The Indian Prime Minister handed over the ceremonial G20 gavel to Brazilian President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, whose country will host the G20 summit in 2024.

Indian Prime Minister suggested holding a virtual session for G20 leaders by the end of next November to discuss the proposals and decisions made during the New Delhi summit.

He stated that India's presidency of the G20 will officially end on November 30, expressing hope for the virtual session of the group’s countries to take place before the end of next November.

The New Delhi Declaration, approved by G20 leaders yesterday, called on all countries to respect international law, national sovereignty, international humanitarian law, and the multilateral system that ensures peace and stability. The leaders also agreed to grant permanent membership in the group to the African Union.

India announced the launch of a global biofuel alliance on the sidelines of the G20 summit meetings, with the participation of the United States and Brazil, to reduce carbon emissions and promote the use of clean energy.

The G20, established in 1999 to support mechanisms of global economic growth, includes "Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States, in addition to the European Union."
