The permanent Russian representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya confirmed that Kyiv's attacks on nuclear sites are pushing the world towards a radiation disaster similar to the Chernobyl disaster.
Nebenzya said at a United Nations Security Council meeting: "The criminal attacks carried out by Kyiv on nuclear infrastructure sites are pushing the world to the brink of a nuclear disaster comparable in scale to Chernobyl."
He pointed to the repeated shelling by Kyiv forces of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in recent days.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced earlier that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's regime had committed a new act qualifying as nuclear terrorism by shelling the infrastructure sites of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov confirmed that Kyiv forces expose all of Europe to a "serious danger" by shelling Zaporizhzhia plant.
