An Israeli newspaper revealed the terms of a plan prepared by Washington, which includes the American vision for achieving progress in the peace process following the end of the war on the Gaza Strip.
The "Times of Israel" published the terms of the plan, which mentions the establishment of a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, in line with the Arab peace initiative.
It pointed out that the US administration seeks to prevent its Arab partners from presenting a long-term vision for a peaceful settlement between Israel and the Palestinians after the end of the Gaza war.
Therefore, the plan provides a more limited framework, yet it is certain to face rejection from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Reconstruction of Gaza
The American document includes 10 points, at the top of which is "calling on the international community to support the reconstruction of Gaza, with opening crossings to the strip to ensure the flow of aid without obstacles."
It rejected the continuation of Gaza's rule by the current authorities and its disarmament on the grounds that the disarmament and reintegration mechanism would facilitate this process in Gaza.
Complete Israeli Withdrawal
Also, a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza without any reduction of its territories, or the presence of military occupation, or forced displacement of Palestinians, who will be allowed to return to the communities in the strip they left during the war.
As well as the reunification of Gaza and the West Bank under the leadership of the Palestinian Authority, and during a transitional period after the war, it becomes ready to resume full governance in the strip.
Resumption of Final Status Negotiations
And the call to resume final status negotiations between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization, as well as to support the establishment of a "independent, connected, and viable" Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps and a just and agreed solution for Palestinian refugees, as outlined in the Arab peace initiative.
Possibility of Normalization between Saudi Arabia and Other Arab States
The American plan also mentions the possibility of normalization between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, other Arab countries, and Israel, with tangible progress toward a two-state solution.
And other terms rejecting unilateral actions from both sides, such as expanding settlements "and glorifying terrorism and violence." And committing to the pledges made during the summits last year in Aqaba and Sharm El Sheikh.
The American document also urges maintaining the status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and calls on the Palestinian Authority to implement far-reaching reforms such as transparency, combating corruption, and reforming education and social welfare.
