Multiple flight disruptions have been reported at Toronto airports as Porter Airlines canceled all flights until 12 PM today Friday due to a global outage in third-party systems.
The airline reported the cancellations on Friday morning.
The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) also confirmed that some flights were affected at Toronto Pearson International Airport due to a "global IT outage." A GTAA spokesperson stated that the impacts are specific to airlines, and passengers traveling today are advised to check with their airlines regarding potential flight disruptions.
In a social media post, Pearson Airport stated that operations at Air Canada, WestJet, Sunwing, and Flair have not been affected. Issues continue with major U.S. airlines, including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines.
Businesses and services around the world have been affected by the global technology outage, which includes Microsoft 365 applications and services.
The University Health Network (UHN) confirmed that the power outage is impacting some of its systems.
UHN wrote on social media: "Clinical activity continues as scheduled, but some patients may experience delays."
