Recently, the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation, in collaboration with Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages, as well as Jenica Atwin, Member of Parliament for the city of Fredericton, launched the "New Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fund," which aims to attract university researchers and companies to collaborate in the field of artificial intelligence.

New Brunswick is a Canadian province with a population of about 750,000 people, located south of Quebec, and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean coast. The province relies on intelligence similar to other provinces in Canada. It is also considered part of the main strategy for economic growth, employment, and innovation.

The Canadian government decided to provide financial support for this artificial intelligence fund through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), a federally managed agency.

Also, the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation is an agency that seeks to promote entrepreneurship: it invests in startups, helps start innovative businesses, funds applied research to develop new intellectual property, and contributes to marketing university and institutional research.

The agency will focus its program on supporting:

• Accelerating applied research programs centered on artificial intelligence.

• Engaging the industrial sector in artificial intelligence research through cooperative programs and sharing success stories.

• Providing a range of targeted applied research programs.
