Purolator and UPS temporarily halted shipping from some carriers, such as eShipper, for 48 hours due to a significant increase in package volume resulting from the Canada Post strike and severe weather conditions. This suspension has impacted small businesses, including the confectionery company Felix & Norton, which faces the risk of substantial losses during the holiday season.
The strike, which began three weeks ago, involves more than 55,000 employees. Canada Post is currently reviewing new proposals submitted by the union to resolve the crisis.
