The developments in the ceasefire file in the Gaza Strip are accelerating, amid progress in negotiations over the exchange of prisoners and the emergence of varying positions from the concerned parties, indicating the possibility of reaching an agreement soon.

Hamas:

A member of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Mohammad al-Nazzal, confirmed that the movement has shown great flexibility in negotiations over the exchange of prisoners and has worked to remove obstacles to facilitate the cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. He indicated that Hamas is ready to move forward in negotiations with the aim of achieving a permanent ceasefire that stops the Israeli aggression on the territory.

Israel:

For its part, Israeli media reported that the spokesperson for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced progress in the negotiations and that it is possible to reach a prisoner exchange deal before the incoming U.S. president, Donald Trump, takes office. The spokesperson added that there is flexibility on Hamas's part regarding the Philadelphia corridor, which is a border area between Egypt and the Gaza Strip that has been a focal point in the negotiations.

Incoming U.S. President Donald Trump:

In turn, incoming U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that he is making significant efforts to secure the release of Israeli hostages and to end the war in Gaza. Trump noted that he had a good conversation with Netanyahu on the subject, emphasizing the urgent need to resolve this conflict. He also warned of "hell" if the prisoners are not released by January 20, the date he assumes office.

Islamic Jihad Movement:

In this context, Mohammed al-Hindi, a leader of the Islamic Jihad movement, stated during an interview with Al Jazeera that the Palestinian resistance has shown flexibility on pending issues and calls for an end to the Israeli aggression and the withdrawal of troops from Gaza. He affirmed that the movement's position lies in the necessity of reaching mechanisms that lead to a complete cessation of aggression, noting that what matters to them is the official stance of the Israeli government rather than the circulating media leaks regarding the prisoner exchange deal.

Field Developments:

On the other hand, Israeli media outlets reported via "Hadashot 12" about the collapse of a building on Israeli army forces in Rafah, resulting in the injury of three Israeli soldiers. Other reports also conveyed ongoing clashes in multiple areas of the Gaza Strip.

Future Expectations:

According to the Israeli newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth," political officials in Israel expect to reach a prisoner exchange deal by the end of this month, despite disagreements over the number of prisoners to be released in the first phase of the deal. In this context, government sources expressed cautious optimism regarding the possibility of reaching an agreement before Trump takes office in January.

Conclusion:

International and regional efforts are accelerating to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, with positive signals from all parties regarding progress in the negotiations, but some unresolved issues remain that may affect the achievement of a comprehensive agreement.
