A man is facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol, after a car crashed into a house in Cambridge on Thursday evening.
The Waterloo Regional Police received several reports around 7:30 PM of a car that struck the supporting wall of a house on Walker Street near Banabaker Road.
According to the police, the driver left the vehicle after the crash and walked away from the scene.
He was later found walking along River Road and the police were able to determine that he was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him.
Investigations also revealed that the driver had collided with another car on Queen Street and did not stop after that incident.
Fortunately, no one was injured in either incident.
The man, 31 years old from Cambridge, has been charged with several offenses, including:
• Driving under the influence of alcohol.
• Driving with a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit (80+).
• Dangerous driving.
• Failing to stop after a collision.
• Driving while suspended.
• Reckless driving.
