The King of Britain, Charles III, announced in a widely followed speech in Britain, today Friday, September 9, 2022, the appointment of Prince William, who is forty years old, as the Prince of Wales and heir apparent to Britain.

The new king said, "With Catherine (Kate) by his side, the new Prince and Princess of Wales will, to my knowledge, continue to inspire and lead our national dialogues."

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, her son Prince Charles became the king of the country, and thus his eldest son Prince William became the heir apparent and first in the line of succession to the throne.

The prince was born in June 1982 from the marriage of his father, who was then the heir apparent, Prince Charles, and his mother Diana Spencer, who became known as Princess Diana.

The young prince's life, who celebrated his fortieth birthday this summer, seems typical according to British traditions, as he divided his activities among volunteer work, charitable endeavors, and military service that included branches of the British armed forces in all formations: land, sea, and air.

The new heir apparent in Britain appears consistent with British ruling traditions, having married a British lady, Kate Middleton.
