The Italian Ministry of Defense announced that one hundred Palestinian children injured as a result of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip will receive treatment in Italy.
A statement issued by the Italian Ministry of Defense reported the "start of the transfer operation of 100 Palestinian children with their families from the Gaza Strip to Italian hospitals."
The statement added that an air bridge is scheduled to be established "between Italy and Egypt" in the coming days to transfer the first 30 children.
The ministry also indicated that another 30 children will arrive at the end of this month aboard the Italian military ship "Nave Vulcano," which will soon depart from the port of the Egyptian city of Arish.
The children will receive treatment in several Italian cities including Rome, Bologna, Florence, and Genoa.
The ministry mentioned that it is holding talks with regional countries to establish a field hospital.
France had received on Wednesday seven injured Palestinian children from the Gaza Strip in children's hospitals to provide them with medical care, according to a statement from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
