The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that Israel carried out a missile strike that targeted a building in the Damascus countryside, causing material damage.

A Syrian military source stated in a statement received by the German news agency "D. B. A" that at around 03:20 am today, Wednesday, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a building in the Damascus countryside, and our air defense systems intercepted some of the attacking missiles, which led to some material losses.

Residents in the south of the capital Damascus reported hearing several explosions near the city of Sayyida Zaynab south of the capital.

They added to "D. B. A." that the shelling targeted a three-story building, and that ambulances and other vehicles belonging to the Syrian security forces headed to the site of the shelling.

Israel has carried out dozens of airstrikes on areas around Damascus this year, and hundreds on the city and its surroundings as well as on areas under the control of the Syrian government, resulting in hundreds of casualties among civilians and military personnel, in addition to casualties from Iranian and Iraqi forces and Hezbollah.
