The Gaza Strip witnessed today, Friday, an Israeli targeting of three hospitals, as part of the series of successive attacks carried out by the occupation army against the medical sector in Gaza.
Health in Gaza stated that the Israeli occupation air force targeted 3 hospitals in the sector at close times: Al-Shifa Complex, Al-Quds Hospital, and the Indonesian Hospital.
Al-Shifa Medical Complex
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced today, Friday, the martyrdom of 13 Palestinians and injury of 26 others in the bombing by occupation aircraft on the gate of Al-Shifa Medical Complex.
One of the paramedics said, in statements to Al-Ghad channel, that the occupation forces targeted an assembly of ambulances carrying injured people after an agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross to transfer them to the Rafah border crossing, in preparation for their treatment abroad.
The Ministry of Health said in a press statement that "13 martyrs and 26 injured resulted from the massacre committed by the occupation against the ambulances at the gate of Al-Shifa Complex, which were carrying a number of the wounded referred for treatment in Egypt."
Health Gaza called on "the countries of the world to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes against medical and ambulance crews and its violation of all international laws and treaties prohibiting the targeting of medical crews and ambulances."
The Indonesian Hospital
The occupation forces also bombed the Indonesian Hospital in the Gaza Strip today, Friday.
The hospital’s statement on Facebook said: "Current attacks around the Indonesian Hospital cause sporadic damages to the Indonesian Hospital and dust and dirt fill the hospital... patients, injured, and displaced persons are in a state of real fear."
International media earlier reported that the occupation forces bombed the surroundings of the Indonesian Hospital with smoke bombs.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza had announced yesterday that the main generator in the Indonesian Hospital stopped working due to fuel depletion, and that it resorted to alternative measures represented by operating the secondary generator, which will impact medical services.
The director of the Indonesian Hospital in the Gaza Strip, Atef Al-Kahlout, said the occupation targeted the hospital’s vicinity causing severe damage to several departments.
Al-Kahlout added during an interview with Al-Ghad channel that "the occupation army threatened from the first day of the aggression to bomb the Indonesian Hospital, and we lost two of our medical crews in airstrikes on ambulances."
Al-Quds Hospital
The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement that the occupation targeted the vicinity of Al-Quds Hospital southwest of Gaza.
The Palestinian Red Crescent added: "Despite the dangers surrounding Al-Quds Hospital due to the intense shelling around it, medical crews have not stopped performing urgent surgical operations."
