Fatah Movement spokesman Abdelfattah Dola praised the decision of US President Joe Biden to impose sanctions on Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, describing it as "important".

Abdelfattah expressed – in an exclusive interview with Al Arabiya Al Hadath news channel today /Friday/ – his hope that "this important American decision was issued not to cover up the ban of the Palestine Liberation Organization in Washington, but came to respond to the successive calls to put an end to the escalating aggression by settlers in the West Bank".

The Fatah spokesman emphasized the necessity to prosecute all settlers who continuously attack Palestinians in the occupied West Bank under the protection of occupation forces, calling on the United States to take serious steps to stop the aggression, end the occupation, and establish the Palestinian state.

Regarding the American position on the Palestinian issue, Fatah Movement spokesman Abdelfattah Dola said that "Washington was the sponsor of the peace process but did not uphold this peace; rather, it supported and backed the occupation and aggression and did not take any serious and genuine steps regarding the rights of the Palestinian people stipulated in international legitimacy resolutions," pointing out that the recent American decision to impose sanctions on settlers in the West Bank comes after the damages and losses incurred by the Biden administration due to its continuous support of the occupation government in its aggression on Gaza.

Abdelfattah indicated that there is a full conviction across the world at present that the key to resolving this issue lies in ending the occupation and establishing the Palestinian state, stressing the US's pursuit to improve its image before the world and its people, especially with the official onset of elections in Washington.

The spokesman called for holding an international peace conference to resolve the Palestinian issue, affirming that "the agreement of all Palestinian factions that reaping any achievement for the people and the cause lies in repairing the internal home, which pushed us to intensify contacts and discussions to achieve reconciliation in the face of the ongoing aggression on Gaza".

Abdelfattah Dola stressed the necessity of taking real steps that would end the occupation and work to establish the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, adding that Gaza is ruled only by Palestinians and they are the ones who decide their fate after the aggression.
