For its part, Channel 12 Israeli reported that the target of the attack in the southern suburbs is the commander of the drone unit in Hezbollah.

Sources reported that the Israeli raid targeted one of the buildings near the Qaim complex in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Witnesses told Reuters that a loud explosion echoed in the southern suburbs of Beirut, and a thick cloud of smoke rose in the area.

The Lebanese news agency reported that "Israeli warplanes launched a raid that targeted an apartment with three missiles in a residential building in the Qaim neighborhood, near St. Joseph's School in the southern suburbs."
