The Iraqi Federal Police Command announced today, Wednesday, the seizure of weapons and mortar shells during inspection operations in Baghdad and Babel.
The command stated - in a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) - that the forces of the fifth division of the Federal Police managed to seize 9 rifles of various types, 9 pistols, 4 pistol magazines, 27 rifle magazines of various types, 200 rounds, and other materials through inspection operations in the areas of (Al-Issaf, Al-Muhandisin, Al-Saklat) in Baghdad.
It added that in the same context and during another security operation, a force from the sixteenth brigade of the fourth division, with support from intelligence efforts, carried out an inspection operation in the area of (Al-Houta Desert) in Babel Governorate, which resulted in the discovery of 10 mortar bombs.
In this regard, the Iraq Counter-Terrorism Service announced today the arrest of 4 terrorists in separate security operations in Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah.
The service stated - in a statement carried by (INA) - that its forces conducted a series of operations in various areas of the country and arrested 3 terrorists in two separate missions in Kirkuk Governorate, as well as detaining a terrorist in Sulaymaniyah Governorate as part of coordinated operations with the Counter-Terrorism Division in the governorate.
The service affirmed its continued pursuit of the remnants of the "ISIS" terrorist organization and drying up the sources of terrorism through planned preemptive operations leading to a secure and stable Iraq.
