The Lebanese Hezbollah group announced today, Tuesday, targeting an Israeli air monitoring base "with a large rocket salvo," in response to the Israeli attack on the Baalbek area in eastern Lebanon yesterday, Monday.

Hezbollah clarified that it targeted the "Meron Air Base" in Israel with a large rocket salvo from several launchers, while a reporter for "Sky News Arabia" reported the launch of dozens of rockets from southern Lebanon towards Upper Galilee in northern Israel.

The Israeli army had earlier said that sirens were sounded in northern Israel after rockets were launched from the Lebanese side.

Israeli media reported that up to 40 rockets were launched from Lebanon towards the Meron Air Base.

Earlier, Hezbollah announced that it targeted the headquarters of an Israeli military division in the Golan Heights with sixty Katyusha rockets, describing the strike as a "response" to strikes that targeted the surroundings of Baalbek city in eastern Lebanon and attacks on villages and civilian homes that resulted in two of its members being killed.

Two Hezbollah members were killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes in eastern Lebanon, for the first time since the escalation along the border began, which Israel said targeted a Hezbollah air defense system in response to the downing of one of its drones this morning.

Also, yesterday, Monday, Hezbollah carried out 10 attacks, most notably shooting down an Israeli drone of the Hermes 450 type with a surface-to-air missile over the Etzioni region, and targeting the Golan division headquarters in Nafah with sixty Katyusha rockets.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced on Sunday that Israel would increase its strikes on Hezbollah, regardless of any potential ceasefire in Gaza.

He said, "Anyone who thinks that reaching an agreement for the release of hostages and a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip will ease the escalation in the north is mistaken."

The border continues to witness clashes between the Lebanese Hezbollah and Israeli forces since the outbreak of the war in Gaza, amid escalating tensions between Lebanon and Israel.
