The specialized military site "Global Firepower" published on Thursday, June 1, 2023, the list of the strongest armies in the world for the year 2023, where the index ranks armies according to the military capabilities of each country.
Every year, Global Firepower evaluates more than 60 individual and collective factors, starting from the diversity of weapons, the number of available men, geographical location, and financial strength, to determine the country with the strongest army on earth, according to what Monte Carlo International published.
In the new military power ranking for 2023, Egypt topped the 14th position globally and was first in the Arab world, followed by Saudi Arabia in 22nd place globally and second in the Arab world, and Algeria ranked 26th globally and third in the Arab world.
As for the other Arab countries, Iraq ranked 45th globally and fourth in the Arab world, the UAE in 56th place globally and fifth in the Arab world, followed by Morocco in 61st place globally and sixth in the Arab world.
Regarding Syria, it came in 64th place globally and seventh in the Arab world, Tunisia in 73rd place globally and eighth in the Arab world, and Yemen in 74th place globally and ninth in the Arab world.
Sudan occupied 75th place globally and tenth in the Arab world, followed by the Sultanate of Oman in 76th place globally and eleventh in the Arab world, and Kuwait in 78th place globally and twelfth in the Arab world.
Bahrain came in 79th place globally and thirteenth in the Arab world, Libya in 80th place globally and fourteenth in the Arab world, Jordan in 81st place globally and fifteenth in the Arab world, and finally Lebanon in 111th place globally and sixteenth in the Arab world.
The "Global Firepower" site bases its annual military power classification on several factors, such as military, financial, logistical, and geographical capabilities, taking into account the size of countries and their technological advancement.
The order of the Arab armies is as follows:
Egypt (14th globally).
Saudi Arabia (22nd globally).
Algeria (26th globally).
Iraq (45th globally).
UAE (56th globally).
Morocco (61st globally).
Syria (64th globally).
Tunisia (73rd globally).
Sudan (75th globally).
Sultanate of Oman (76th globally).
At the global level, the US army tops the list, followed by the Russian forces, then the Chinese:
