A group of Egyptian ambulances crossed the Rafah crossing to the Palestinian side to transport injured Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, while 70 trucks carrying food and medicine entered the sector today, Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
According to Egyptian sources, ambulances belonging to the Egyptian Red Crescent crossed the Rafah crossing this morning to transport injured Palestinians for treatment in the city of Arish.
A medical official in the city of Arish told the French Press Agency that medical teams will be present at the crossing to examine cases coming from Gaza upon arrival and determine which hospitals they will go to.
On the other hand, the U.S. Department of State confirmed that it is heavily focused on opening the Rafah crossing to allow its nationals to leave the sector.
U.S. Department of State spokesman Matthew Miller explained that Washington has made good progress in this regard over the past few hours.
He also added that he hopes to build on this progress to evacuate American citizens from Gaza.
